Our client runs a horse riding company in Wales, primarily focused on tourism. For decades, they also managed a travel agency that sells activities from operators worldwide, but they faced a common challenge: managing various data and bookings including spots, prices, availability, and events.

They approached us to develop a streamlined solution, and together we created Surefooted.

Surefooted is a universal booking system that B2B companies can integrate into their websites (regardless of the technology used), simplifying the booking and management processes. It ensures accessibility for any business and makes the booking process quick and easy for both parties.

Challenges

The primary challenge of this project was to create a calendar that could seamlessly integrate with any website, regardless of the underlying technology. It had to be fully configurable from the back end, ensuring that all updates, including prices, durations, and availability, were accurately displayed on the client’s site. Another complexity involved providing two booking modes: one where customers select a random day, and another where they can view the entire calendar to choose a specific date. Coordinating multiple developers with diverse technical backgrounds and integrating various tech stacks was crucial to deliver a system that was both functional and practical.

Solutions

To tackle these challenges, we prioritized flexibility and universality. We created a lightweight, embeddable calendar that can be integrated into any website with a simple copy-and-paste code. The back end was crafted for complete customization, enabling businesses to manage events, spots, and pricing in real time. By utilizing modern front-end technologies and a robust API, we ensured that every change is instantly visible on the client’s site.
